We now have the capability to do Covid-19 PCR tests in the office. We obtain a sample from a swab in the nose. They take about an hour to run. We will call you with results as soon as they are available. Currently, they are only available at the Louisville (Avista) office. Most insurances are covering the cost of the test.
We are still doing Covid-19 PCR tests at the Broomfield (Children’s) office but for now are continuing to send those out to Centennial State Laboratory. So please specify if you need the results on the same day when you make your appointment.
Both tests are able to detect the new strains of Covid-19 or Coronavirus that are circulating. They test different parts of the virus that haven’t changed.
