We were made aware Thursday evening, 2/17/22, that Similac has issued a voluntary recall notice for certain infant powder formulas due to a potential contamination risk from one of their manufacturing sites in Sturgis, Michigan. Currently, the recall applies to all Similac, Alimentum, and Elecare formulas with an expiration date of 04/2022 or later and with the lot digits 22 through 37 and one of the following combinations on the can: K8, SH, or Z2. If you have any question that your formula may be on the recall list, please go to the Similac recall website (https://www.similacrecall.com/us/en/home.html) and type in the code found on the bottom of the formula can to clarify. If you believe you have given your child this formula, please call the Similac Recall hotline at 1-800-986-8540. If you know your child has consumed a recalled product and they are experiencing symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, reduced appetite, or lethargy, please call our office to discuss next steps with a member of our healthcare team.
